MyHome PC Application

Control4® MyHome App for PC/Tablet Now Available!

The Control4® MyHome – PC/Tablet application announced at CES is now available for download so you can allow virtually any laptop, desktop or tablet device that is capable of running Flash* to be used as an interface for managing a Control4 system.

In a Control4-enabled smart home, Control4 MyHome allows users to manage their system over any WiFi network, with unique security features that identify and authenticate their Control4 system to their devices. The MyHome – PC/Tablet application supports the following devices:
• Laptops, desktops and tablets running Windows OS
• Laptops and desktops running Mac OS
• Laptops and desktops running Linux OS
There are also MyHome apps that enable control from iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches.

* Support for the Android operating system is planned for a future release.

Getting the App

The application can be downloaded from the Control4 MyHome – PC/Tablet product page at www.control4.com.

A MyHome device or site license and activation by an authorized Control4 Dealer using Composer Pro is required to use MyHome – PC/Tablet.

NOTE: In order to run the MyHome – PC/Tablet application, which is Flash-based, the device must have Adobe Air installed and the device must support Adobe Air’s desktop and extended desktop profiles. When installing MyHome – PC/Tablet, you will be prompted to install Adobe Air if it is not already installed.

Control4® MyHome Licenses

In order to activate the Control4 MyHome – PC/Tablet application, you must purchase an enabling license. Control4 MyHome features a new licensing structure designed to provide greater flexibility.
• Site License: A site license enables functionality on any number of devices, of any combination. There is no limit to the number of devices using the MyHome application that can be attached to a project.
• Device License: A device license is attached to any supported individual device. If you purchase a device license for an iPhone, and then switch to an iPad your license will be transferred to the iPad and the functionality will no longer be available on the iPhone. Or, if you have a license for your desktop PC and switch to a laptop, the license can be transferred from the desktop PC to your new laptop.

The Control4 MyHome for PC/Tablet app is currently available at no cost.

Control4 system running software 1.7.4 or later, a Control4 MyHome app, and appropriate device.

Control4 system running software OS 2.0 or later, a Control4 MyHome App, and PC or tablet device capable of running Adobe Flash.
