New lifestyle applications available via the Control4 4Store

Now more sophisticated apps can be found on the 4Store – to complement the Organizer app, i-Novi now delivers Wakeup and Vacation apps to complement your modern lifestyle.

4Store unleashes more and more convenient apps to support a modern, simple and automated lifestyle. Recently we got the chance to take a look to a two brand new apps produced by i-Novi – Wakeup and Vacation.

Wakeup:

What if your home automation system could gently wake you up to your favourite song or TV channel while slowly bringing up the lights and raising your blinds? This easy to use app integrates all this in a simple to use approach. It even allows you to set your preferred temperature setting for the thermostat in the room.

We used to need to configure a bunch of timers, connecting different events and commands in the Composer Home Edition software to make some kind of wake up scenario that could involve lighting, music, heating etc. With the Wakeup app now available, you can customize your wake up scenario in a matter of seconds, with just a couple of button presses.

When you start the app, you’ll get an intuitive user interface. From there you can set the desired wake up time and whether you wish to repeat the alarm daily. The choice of device actuators to control by the app can also be selected, among them lighting, blinds, TV and thermostat. Once set, you can close the app and leave. When your desired time comes, you will be woken to a pleasant experience.

Vacation:

This app enables you to configure your home vacation mode, so that it appears you have never left for vacation or work. Mimicking the perfect I’m-home-when-I’m-not-home simulation, lights will be toggled, AV equipment switched on/off, TV channels switched on/off etc. You can also set the desired temperature of the home at the date/time of your return, so that the perfect temperature awaits you upon your arrival.

On the first startup, you will be welcomed by the introduction screen where you can choose to edit the home description. This will take you to a wizard-like screen where you can go room by room in your home, and assign a type to it. For example, for the room “Kate’s room” you select a type “Bedroom”. Now, vacation simulation acts in a way that Kate’s room is regarded as a bedroom – lights are off there when it is time for bed, and on again briefly in the early morning. Going step by step within a minute you are able to easily assign a type for each room in your home. Once you’re done, you will always see only the main app view. Here you can start/stop the vacation mode, while selecting which devices you want to be controlled by the app – lights, motorization (blinds), AV devices, or all!
You can get back to reconfiguring the simulation by pressing “Settings”. In the settings you can choose “Prepare for arrival” to setup a desired temperature to welcome your return home – from the calendar picker just select a return date, set desired time and temperature and you’re done.

Both apps need dealer support to install. To acquire this app, you first need to call your dealer to install the required wakeup driver. Next, you can navigate to the 4Store on your touch screen and buy the app.
Enhancements to both apps are planned (e.g. audio control for the wake-up, high / low temperature setting etc.) and i-Novi welcomes all customer feedback on support@i-novi.com.
