The Recluse AV POP3 email control driver for Control4 is designed to provide inbound email control to the Control4 home automation system with conditional programming on email address, sender’s name and subject variables.

Can you give us some examples of how we could use this driver?
With a simple email from any of your devices you can now remotely turn on your heating or cooling before you come home, trigger lighting scenes or even send a notification to your spouse that you will be late home via any Control4 flash navigator touchscreens. Conditional logic on sender’s name, sender’s email and definable keywords can limit who has access to control your home giving you the peace of mind that only you have control over your home.

Are there any other cool things we can do with this driver?
When used in conjunction with our SMTP driver you can now give feedback to the person sending the email with a dynamic message notifying them on the status your home. For example you can send a command to prompt for the temperature. The SMTP driver will then return the current temperature in your home. Alternatively you can use it for confirmation on actions such as turning on heating or cooling in your home.

If you utilise the POP3 email control driver with the Recluse AV Text to Speech driver you can now email your home and have your home read out your announcements.

You can also send text based announcements to your Control4 flash based navigator touch screens or your M1 security system keypad (with Recluse AV driver) to leave messages for your spouse.

Will this driver cost us money annually?
There is only a once off charge for this driver licence for each project.
