Dana Innovations Tour

Last week the SOHO Shop team was invited to tour the facilities of Dana Innovations in sunny southern California.  Dana Innovations is located in Dana Point, California.  The name sake of the company actually comes from a tribute to one of the founder’s fathers who’s first name is Dana.  Dana Innovations is the parent company to Sonance, LaunchPort, iPort, and Trufig.  These are all brands that The SOHO Shop proudly represents and offers to our clients.  As part of the tour we were given full access to the offices, warehouse, training rooms, and the outside area around the building.  We experienced demos of Sonance products in all of these spaces including the CEO’s office and executive conference room.  With this experience, we found that the company culture of Dana Innovations is very similar to ours.  They are very open door, and everyone does have a key role but the effort of the team is very important.  They also have fun at work which really promotes a great environment.  Most importantly there is a shared passion for what they do, and this is what drives them to be the best in their industry.

We got to experience a lot as there are 16 offerings of product categories. We will post different installments of our experience at Sonance.

It is important to note that Sonance was commercially founded the architectural speaker.  Sonance was not the first to make an in-wall speaker, but they were the first to commercially produce it.  This was over 30 years ago now, their first in wall speaker the Sonance One is in the CEDIA hall of fame.

Dana Innovations company philosophy is that design is a key component in product development.  They strive to make high performance products that can be installed without affecting the design of the space.

Outside of the Dana Innovations offices, and a view from the parking lot.  What is in the distance is Camp Pendleton, which is a US Mariner military base.  They had some war games going on during our visit so we got to hear artillery shelling for a lot of the trip.  It was very cool.  Dana Innovations is also by the beach, or at least our hotel was, so the views there where very nice as well.
