Control4 has announce that OS 2.1.1 is now available for immediate download. The primary purpose of the OS 2.1.1 release is to correct Navigator lockup problems that can occur in a small number of systems, along with a few other identified issues. A quick summary of the fixes:

• Flash Lite player not correctly handling HTTP 404 status.
• On-Screen Navigator getting stuck on a popup going back to the home screen.
• Rhapsody Recommends overlay on the previous menu (non-fatal).
• IP Camera image remaining on screen after a bookmark is executed in programming.
• Two (2) Thermostat pages being overlaid.
• Navigator overlaying UI on when using alphanumeric search and select on music UI.
• Navigator reporting ‘Unknown’ while browsing media.
• MyHomePC Navigators occasionally not showing the current room when first started.
• 4Store application problem where the symbolic link wasn’t properly created when using the HC200 / HC300 which prevented the use of these Controllers as the storage location for 4Store apps.
• Director crash that could occur in certain circumstances when a song is selected on the Control4 Dock for iPod.
• A/V path selection that could cause an A/V Receiver to turn off and then turn back on when changing the video source.
• Thermostats using the HVAC System Zone Driver can be controlled using the Flash-based Navigator UI.

Sometimes a Barn is not just a barn
Last Updated on Wednesday, 31 August 2011 12:15 Written by Bryan Tuesday, 30 August 2011 02:49
When a customer came to use to extend his Control4 system into his Polo Barn, we did not know how far the imagination could go on such a project. The customer wanted access to his Satellite Receivers, Digital Music, XM Radio and control over his home from the Barn. He also wanted the ability to intercom between the house and his players and staff. What made the project tricky was how could TV’s be mounted in the Barn so that the players would not hit their heads when riding to the field to play.
What The SOHO Shop came up with was mounting another small rack in the barn to allow for the digital and xm music to be played over the field PA system and the PA system to be played in the barn. The Barn was connected to the home over Fiber with Cat5 to fiber converters.
A HC-200, 7″ touchscreen and XM Tuner was installed in the barn with a 4 zone amp to power the speakers throughout the barn.
A custom lift was built to hold 2 TV’s to be seen from either side and configured for custom slide shows to be played during events.
Click on the video link below to see the lift in action. Sorry for the bad video!
