FREE motion detector driver included.  This driver will execute ‘Starts Sensing Motion’, ‘Stops Sensing Motion’ and ‘Timer Expired’ events. The timer is killed when it starts sensing motion. Once the driver stops sensing motion it will start the timer. Once the timer expired it will fire the ‘Timer Expired’ event. This simplifies programming if multiple occupancy based programming is required.

Note that this driver will not populate the Control4 navigator. If you require a motion sensor proxy then a Control4 motion sensor driver will need to be added and binded to the same Zone connection as the Recluse AV motion sensor driver.

This driver is available for purchase by authorised Control4 dealers via the Recluse AV website

Important Information Regarding Pandonos V1.1!

Important Information Reguarding Pandonos V1.1!

Many of our customers use Pandonos to gain access to Pandora through their Control4 System. We have recieved the following from ExtraVegtables on an upcoming update.

V5.0.4 Driver Now Required!
At the beginning of December we will be releasing an update to our Pandonos 4Store app.  If you already have customers using this app with their Control4 system then this newsletter contains important information regarding those systems.  In order to be compatible with the upcoming revised app you must ensure that their Control4 system is running version 5 or higher of our Sonos driver.  Preferably version 5.0.4 which is released today.

Pandonos is our 4Store app that enables full control of Pandora on Sonos via Control4.

Updated and improved backend
The new version of the Pandonos app has had a big re-write.  This is designed to make the app smaller, faster and more reliable.  We had reports that it took too long for the station list to load and sometimes this failed.  So we have changed the way in which the station lookup works so that now it uses the same system as the Sonos driver.  This will mean that you can be sure if the Pandora stations are listed in the driver they will appear on the Pandonos app.  There are many other changes that will make a big difference to the how the app runs on the system.

Revised user interface
The new version includes an improved user interface.  The information is now presented in graduated boxes with a rounded feel.  We have also now included a bookmark button which allows you to bookmark any track as it plays on the system.  The updates are fairly subtle and your customers will have no trouble in transitioning from the previous version.

Driver update may be required
Because of the changes in the new version of the app you need to be running one of the latest copies of the Sonos driver to use the new version.  Support for the updated app is built into all of the Version 5 or higher Sonos drivers.  We recommend you use version 5.0.4 as this has a number of important bug fixes.  Older versions of the Sonos driver WILL NOT WORK with the new app

Your Two Week Warning!
This is your two week warning to update customer systems to the new version of the Sonos driver if you want to update to the latest Pandonos app when it is released.  If you have  a version of the Sonos driver prior to Version 5 you will need to update the license and driver.

Smooth Transfer
We don’t want you or your customers to be without their Pandonos system so please schedule to update any drivers as soon as you can.  Note that if you do not update the driver then as long as you do not update the Pandonos app it will continue to work.  But if the app is ever updated it will then stop working until the driver is updated.

Available Early December

The new version of the Pandonos app is due to be released the second week of December 2011.

Roku + ip driver by Diamond Design

While you could control the Roku with a simple ir driver since there aren’t many buttons, an ip driver gives you more control. That is where James at Diamond Design comes in.

I have the original Roku XDS. The newer units only have an hdmi out. I have a component switch, and knew I wanted the ip driver so I bought the original XDS.

All you need to do with the roku is connect it to the internet, power, and to a video source. Follow the onscreen commands to set it up and add whatever “channels” you want. During the setup it will tell you the ip address which you will want to make note of for the driver. You can’t set the roku to static ip, so I reserved the ip based on it’s mac address with my router so it will stay on that ip.

The Roku has hundreds of “channels”. I won’t bore you by listing all of them, but you can check them out at http://www.roku.com/roku-channel-store To name just a few of the main ones: netflix, amazon, and huluplus.

With the ip driver created by James he has programmed the number buttons on the Control4 remote to auto select 9 channels and the 0 to select the main roku menu. Here is a list of the channels he has assigned to the number buttons.

Number 0: Channel Store
Number 1: Netflix
Number 2: Flixster
Number 3: Amazon
Number 4: huluPlus
Number 5: Pandora
Number 6: UFC
Number 7: Roku Newscaster
Number 8: CNET TV
Nubmer 9: Facebook Photos

Within Composer you can program the color buttons to select some other channels as seen in the image below.

What is really nice with the ip driver, is say netflix is the main channel you are going to watch on the roku, you can program via composer to go to that channel automatically when the roku is selected as a video source for that room. Here is an image showing the program event.

Overall a very nice box that is packed with lots of videos and seems to be creating new “channels” daily. The driver works great also!

Hope you enjoyed
