Review #9 Faces / Facebook

Another social networking app for those of you that like to stay in touch. This one is all about facebook. While the app is limited in function it does keep track of things while you are away from the desktop.
Icon 1 the minifeed gives you a quick glimpse of all status updates of your friends. easy enough right?
Icon 2 is the friends icon. This page allows you to select one of your friends and select info, interest, and albums. This is all based on recent changes, and i assume this is to keep the app from hogging up precious processor resources.
Icon3 is photo’s. This is a specific glimpse at recently uploaded photos of your friends. Consider it a short cut to the good stuff, I mean who could pass up that picture of your best friend in a taco hat?
The Last icon is for everyone else. The status icon lets you go right in and update your status. Kinda cool, while you are watching a movie you can update your status to tell you friends what you are watching from the same screen you selected your movie from!
Put it all together it’s a nice app. I myself don’t use social networking much, but this app may have me hooked.

4Store App Review #7: Photos / Flickr

This is a pretty cool app for those of you that are photo buffs or who like to keep track of photos friends post on Flickr.
Set up was easy. The configure page in your apps at the 4store allows you to save any flickr account by user name and saves this to you app. Easy enough, so how does it work?
Flickr Search is the first icon in this app. Right off i will say this works well if using the on screen keyboard. The remote control letter function is still a little lacking as with all apps. I think that is a work in progress. But using the on screen key board works well, and the search function is great. I typed in my city and presto, lots of pictures of my home town. You can search for pictures of just about anything!
The second icon is the Featured icon. This one will bring up a featured menu which includes Across America, Cities of the World, Outer Space, and Sports. Clicking on any of these will bring up plenty of eye candy on any of these subjects.
The third icon is where those accounts you entered in the configure page come into play. This is the Friends icon. When this is chosen it gives you the names of everyone you have added. Select a name and it gives you all the albums from this user with a thumbnail of the album. Select an album and you have access to all of the photos this user has added to the album. When clicking on a photo it brings it full screen for all to see.
From a glace this is a great app for people who use flickr and for those who want to see whats out there. I will say that on a large display the picture quality was better than passable for those used to digital photography. The app is easy to set up, easy to use, and of course easy on the eyes.

4Store App Review #5: Calendar…… The App that may saved my Marriage!

So for you guys that know us at The Soho Shop You know we travel a lot. A lot. My wife is always asking where I will be, when I will be home, when I am leaving, etc. Well now she can simply look at the C4 screen and see where I am at! And I can go on here and see her calendar to see the kid’s appointment, school times, and everything else she requires me to keep track of.
Set up of this app was pretty simple. First make sure you have a Gmail account and a Google calendar made. Fill in the required fields in the configure portion on your 4store.com account, up to 6 accounts. And your’re ready to go. The app is simple to use, and will probably be one of the most used apps in our household! Note, To view the other 5 available calendars you must added them as friends calendars to view them on navigators.
This is another app by the great staff over at Concierge Solutions.
